SPI Mini De-Cat.
Is replacing the cat with a De-cat pipe a safe option ? The cat needs replacing anyway, so this and the N.C.T. aside are there any other issues which may arise ? is it a straight swop or is there adjustments needed afterwards ? Any Help greatly appreciated.

Re: SPI Mini De-Cat.
I put a decat pipe on my '93 SPi shortly after I bought it some time back.
Very easy swap, bolts may be rusty though, mine weren't. Depending on your circumstances, you might ask your local exhaust garage to do it for you. 10 minute job.
Never had any problems but it's not been near an NCT.
I have read that it *might* be possible to achieve the emmisions threshold with no cat on an SPi but I have no proof of that.
I decatted to save the cat, plan was to bolt it on before testing then put it back on the shelf for the year.

Re: SPI Mini De-Cat.
Many people have done it with no reported problems as far as normal driving is concerned.
As for the NCT , I have not heard of anybody passing a SPi without the cat.
Carb minis up to '94 with the cat have a special NCT allowance of 3.5% CO2 and I think they can get through without it.
