Post

Anyone have a clutch housing for an A+ 998?
I have managed to put a small pressure crack in mine trying to remove the idler bearing

Would it be worth getting it Tig welded and the bearing housing re-cut? Maybe give Paul Hickey (HRE IRL) a ring, he might be able to suggest something.

I have a guy that does TIG that we use through work, so hopefully he'll be able to do something with it, but will be new year before I can touch base with him.
I've left some methylated spirits in the hole last night and its still there, so might be salvageable with just Tigging along the crack line on the outside of the case (so in the clutch housing rather than engine side) then I shouldn't need to recut the blind hole as I won't be touching the sides or inside bottom of hole?
