6222ZC was probably scrapped a long time ago. The rear seat belt fittings are definitely from a much newer car.

Re: Another Dodgy Mini
My opinion is its just wrong to put gloss red roof and stripes on a rust coulored mini.
If it is a 1ltr I would say '87 -'91.
A look under the bonnet would help.

Re: Another Dodgy Mini
Thats what i was thinking that a look under the bonnet could or would tell a lot.
To my mind an original 1972 mini would be worth a tidy sum in todays market so i dont understand why you would make a rarish model look like every other mini from the latter years. I know that we all did it back in the day when minis were all over the place in the early 1980's and we tried to put a few goodies into and onto them and the cars were not worth a whole lot so it didnt matter too much and they were plenty of them around. Each to their own i guess

i'd happily change my '93 for a '73 - yea, and before you mention it, *NOT* with a log-book and a set of plates.
Signature still awaiting top-coat and lacquer....

Re: Another Dodgy Mini
I think a nice Mk3 early 70's Mini looks great. Take Eamospud's '72 850, a super little car that has had twin carbs and a bigger exhaust fitted and it goes like stink. Nothing that can't be put back to standard if required.
Each to their own I know but 6222 ZC is definitely a ringer.

Re: Another Dodgy Mini
I agree, twin carbs and a bigger exhaust is an acceptable and worthwhile modification and as you say nothing that can't be changed back. The essence and originality is still there and the car is straight and honest and i think more appealing as a result.Billy wrote:I think a nice Mk3 early 70's Mini looks great. Re: Another Dodgy Mini
Would love to bring it to the VRT,
Year of first registration 1963
Year of manufacture 1992.
If the V5 carried the correct new chassis number which is possable with a car reshelled in the UK how would the VRT handle it.
