I have a request in with First Ireland to see if I can get my 98 Cooper (15yrs) on the same classic policies as my three other minis. I have another main car policy.

The request has been sent to the underwriters.

We'll see.

zakgt is your other main car policy with First Ireland as well or a separate company altogether? Is your request subject to having the main policy with them as well?

Hmmmm.. thats a little worrisome.. i've been with them for ages (first ireland) and have the '80 clubbie & '93 SPi on a dual policy..(used to have the beemer on it too) no other cars other than named driver on the mrs's barge. hope they haven't changed their mind!

Keith,

Our 1993 spi is 20 yrs old so that would to be a problem. I just recall someone on the forum setting they got a 15 yr old car on their classic policy.

Try Autoline, based in Coleraine but will insure in the Republic.

Telephone: 01-490 1000 (Dublin Number)

I have a '76 insured with Autoline. They gave me a few options for mileage.
I went for 3k per year and they charged me €187 fully comp, with the Missus as a named driver.
One good thing I found was they will add another Mini for around €20 extra per year (but the mileage would be spread across both cars).

I got 5,000 miles shared across the 4 cars.

Read your policy carefully, classic car policies usually aren't intended for daily drivers.
