Does the IMOC need a BOG
Just thniking, with the increasing numbers of members owning MINIs, should we start a BOG (Bini Owners' Group)?

Re: Does the IMOC need a BOG
Considering we don't have a WOG for the Wolseley owners, and there's far more of them, then I'd say no.

Killian,
Have I lost another brother to the dark side?

How about REHAB! for people who are thinking of Binis, a bit of counselling could get them back from the Dark side.

A BOG state of mind Still though, we re going to need BMW in a few years, I know we re going to put in a big effort over next year to have a much bigger display at the Camping weekend so maybe a section on the forum to show our support for them?

Re: Does the IMOC need a BOG
There'll be a separate section for Marcos too? Apart from the perceived need to suck up to BMW to scrounge a few euros off them, do we really want BINIS at our events? I'd say KMG's Puck got more attention than any BINIs at the camping weekend. I'd say a poll of members would prove interesting reading.

Can of worms indeed, but one that will have to be addressed at next year's AGM.

Re: Does the IMOC need a BOG
The issue has already been resolved at several AGMs and has always come out in favor of BMW minis been in the club as we are a mini enthusiasts club and welcome anybody interested in minis regardless of what they arrive in ( including Volvos). I don't concider my BINI a Mini but to the public in general they are in the same family and there is a lot to be gained from the ongoing publicity that MINI generates. With early BINIs now over 10 years old you will see more young people buying them and joining the club. With the youngest Mini now 13 years old its hard to find a reliable one for little money so for daily use the BINI makes a lot more sense and its much better than drivin a Polo or Fiesta. The BINI doesn't require a diferent section , its owners just need to feel welcomed into the club in general.
All the BINI owners I know in the club also drive minis so maybe this is how new young drivers will come into the mini scene in the future.

Re: Does the IMOC need a BOG
I agree with Woody, most of us "older" members have a 2nd car for daily use , (I was putting up 500km a week on route to work, and didn't want that mileage on the Designer) so I think the Bini is a better option than a Fiesta etc., also the Bini is good fun to drive! The newer ones don't look much like a Mini of course but the 2002 to 2006 isn't half bad.....
Can't we all get along ?
