chassis numbers - NCT

prepping the car for NCT i can't see the chassis numbers stamped on the scuttle panel/bonnet gutter area after painting. the alloy plate with the number is there on the inner wing but according to what i hear, that's not good enough. how can i re-punch those numbers? and where can i put them? i was thinking on the firewall beside the wiper motor would be the handiest to do & read?

Just clean the paint back on the scuttle so its visable

Go to the nct center they'll give you a form that a gard sings and you dont need it it's a new thing they started doing for older cars
