MTM 2013 Weekend timetable
This timetable is a guide and while we try to keep to the times as close as possible they may change due to unforeseen conditions.
Timetable for MTM2013
** Friday 7th June.
- 5 pm: MTM2013 Team in place to meet crews arriving in Mc Grorys of Culdaff,Co Donegal.
- 7 pm: Drivers Sign-On and hand out of event packs at Mc Grorys.
- 8 pm: Drivers Briefing Meeting & Official Launch of MTM2013.
** Saturday 8th June:
- 5am: Malin Head - Route books will be handed out & the first cars will depart from 6am sharp.(and we mean SHARP)
- 6.45am: Breakfast stop - Location will be identified in the route book .
- 12:30pm: Cars start to arrive at the Midpoint Halt for lunch - All cars must check in at the Control Car. The location will be marked in the route book.
- 1.15pm: First cars depart lunch stop - the second route book will be handed out .
- 7.30pm: First cars arrive at Mizen Head and then back to the Barleycove Beach Hotel for the evening meal and a good nights craic.
** Sunday 9th June:
- 10.30am:Finishers awards ceremony will take place downstairs in the Barleycove Beach Hotel function room.(or the balcony if we get the weather)
As you may have noticed we had done away with the evening meal stop again this year prior to getting to the finish in order to get entrants to the finish in earlier as it has been the case over previous MTMs that people are getting back to the hotel very late. This worked well last year and we would ask MTMers to be mindful of other participants and to free up space when they are finished dining. As MTM 2013 is a little later than usual everybody should make it down in daylight.
*** Entrants should also note that the Barleycove Beach Hotel will finish serving meals at 10pm ***
(There is no guarantee that you will get food later than this)
We have timed the route and feel that everyone should be there before this and all that is needed is a steady pace.

Re: MTM 2013 Weekend timetable
A few things to remember on the day. With just 12 days until we line up for MTM 2013 now is a good time to start preparing for the big day.
All participants are reminded to ensure that their car is in roadworthy condition and in good mechanical order so as to cover the 450 aprox miles from Malin Head to Mizen Head.Wheel bearings, ball joints, fan belts, cooling system, drive shafts, brakes, lights and all other systems on your Mini should be checked over and any faults rectified before you set off. The recovery crew will maintain a steady pace behind the last Mini but should you deviate from the route or spend an inordinate amount of time sightseeing, you may be left behind and the recovery crew may not be able to help you should you need assistance. And remember that it is a RECOVERY service and not a breakdown service so if you are unfortunate enough to suffer a breakdown they will endeavour to get you on your way but any large scale mechanical problems will leave them no other choice than to load up your Mini and leave it to a safe place.Proper preparation of your Mini now should help to ensure you complete the event without a hitch and will also enable you to have a better experience without the stress of breakdowns. Also as this event is being held on public roads it is up to each entrant to ensure that their Mini is in full compliance with the rules of the road and has proper insurance cover, tax and nct where applicable.
Below is a list of suggested items to bring with you:
1. A fully inflated spare tyre,a can of tyre weld, a jack and wheel brace.
2. Oil, Brake Fluid,a small jerry can of petrol & Water/Coolant;
3. A set of spanners. 7/16", 1/2", 9/16" will cover most things (11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm if you're stuck)
4. A fan belt, head gasket and a set of points (make sure they are the right ones for your Mini)
5. A coil and a condenser(make sure they are the right ones for your Mini)
6. A bottle of good rad sealer.
7. A mobile phone/charger and a warning triangle.
8. Enough cash to pay for your accommodation, petrol, food, and drink!
9.A Sat Nav for use with the tulip diagrams.
10.A head gasket
If you feel the need to add anything else to the spares list feel free to and have fun getting ready for MTM 2013.Not long now.

Just a quick reminder to everyone who was kind enough to take a sponsorship card for Temple St. to please bring it along to the driver sign in on Friday night as we need to account for all cards.

Re: MTM 2013 Weekend timetable
Good luck to everyone taking part in this year's MTM. Remember the car you're bringing to the start is the car that's got to bring you home from the finish so don't do the dog on it and enjoy the trip.
