Hazard Question For WOODY :)

OK. So the repeaters are working and after cleaning a fuse connector behind the carb, we have the hazards working....kind of. The signal is very weak and only the front end is working at all. When wires are removed at the hazard switch, and power is cut from one side, the hazards on the other side are working perfectly, front and rear. As soon as the wires are reconnected, the signal again becomes very weak and only the front repeaters work...barely. Care to hazard a guess?

Is it the same story with the indicators (as distinct from the Hazards).
If so then i would guess that one of the live indicator bulb feeds is shorting out on the bodywork somewhere.....if not then it could be the the hazard unit itself.

OK, let me clean that up. The indicators are working fine and are powerful all the way around. But when the hazard switch is pressed, the repeaters are very dim all round. At first, we thought the rear ones were not working with the hazards, but they are. It is just very dim.

Thats a 21Wx2 so it's only an indicator relay designed to flash only 2 bulbs, you need the one Woody quoted.

Check the relay at the clocks to see if they have just been switched round bey someone by mistake.

UPDATE:

Dropped up to Mini Fix for a replacement flasher unit. I decided to buy the heater unit too, so that would be done. Looks like I will have a spare soon.

The flasher unit was giving the same problem

This time, I drove the Mini to Mini Fix, but not until after I installed the heater unit and topped up the coolant. A brand new flasher unit went in and I was happy......Until the guy (don't know his name  ) had a quick look around the car. So the rear brake cylinders will need replacing, as will the exhaust and the passenger door as suspected. Might be a good time to get a different type of exhaust? I like the ones hanging out the centre, rather than to the side.

After I install the bushings on the engine steady mount, I then have to get the exhaust downpipe looked at. I should have got a Ford Transit
