Fog Light Switch Problem?

My brother in law (engineering student) is doing some alectrical fault finding on the mini as I speak. The horn is now working :)

However, the drivers side repeaters are still not working. When the hazards are turned on, the left repeaters work and this shows on the dash, but the light that should flash for the right repeaters does not flash. The rear fog is also not working and the reverse lights are not working. I'm sure it's unrelated, but the passenger courtesy light is also not working. The Haynes manual is helpful, but I thought someone on here might know something that could help. Any suggestons?

EDIT 1:
Repeaters are now working. Loose connection under the dash thanks to the fine work of a previous owner. Now the hazard switch (a separate issue) is getting looked at.

Time to book NCT I think.

Need to clarify ,no indicators on the right (front ,rear, side and dash) are working from either the indicator switch or the hazard switch but all the left is working fine ?

Fog light is proberbly bad connection inside lamp.
Check for 12 volts on the purple in courtisy light.

This was the case, but now the indicators are OK. However, he is now working on the hazards, as that has stopped working. He has taken something apart and is reassembling it now. He has a question about the fog light switch. Should there be a connection on both sides? I have a photo of the fog switch and there is only one wire connected on the side. Ignore the short circuit wire. He was testing something.

There should be a black wire on the other side.
Fog light only works when main lightswitch is on.

The fog light is now working, but there is still just the one wire on the one side as seen in the photo. The problem was a bad connection in the boot. Never have I had so many electrical problems

Update:

Repeaters are working and so is the fog light. I will be trying a replacement relay, hoping this will sort the hazards. I think the reverse light sender is broken. under the car, whereabouts the gear shifter is, there are two wires, one was snapped and was short. Where is the best place to get the right part? I think replacing the whole unit would be best, considering where it is.

The second wire to the switch is for the bulb inside the switch that illuminates when it is turned on. NCT fail if inoperative.
Just get a ground wire from somewhere on the body.

The reversing switch wire, unless it is broken right at the switch on the side of the gearstick housing, can be easily repaired/soldered/lengthened as needs be.
The switch shouldn't need to be removed, it is set to a specific depth in order to turn the lights on only when reverse gear has been selected.

Mods,

This topic will probably be easier for members to find in either the General or Technical sections.

I'll take another look at that so.

If only the heater matrix would ever arrive! I ordered it, along with some chrome bits and the other bits arrived last night and the night before, but the matrix i'm still waiting for.

I'd generally use Somerford Mini, they may be slightly more expensive for parts then others but are very good to deal with, stock everything and quick to post out (order Monday, have Thursday).

We have learned in the past that some of the UK Mini suppliers will take your order and money but won't actually have the item in stock, they leave you waiting for ages for them to restock, some will even hold up orders waiting for a single part to come back into stock.

Oh. Thanks for the heads up there. I will look into that.
