Guys just wundering which stage rc40 exhaust will give my mpi in or around this sound, as itll be exempt from emissions testing thats not of concern so i'd like some better flow and alot more sound. Just trying to get a rough idea of which exhaust ill need when the time comes

personally I can recommend the RC40 stainless Millennium system without a centre box (if you want loud), I had a side exit one of these and the sound was lovely, it has a 1.76' internal diameter which will give good flow too and the back box has a 2' exit,
the Maniflow systems are really good but pricey :( ,
I have a Playmini system on mine now without a centre box, it's 2' internal diameter and the back box has a 3' exit so would be a bit on the big side for your application but it has a deep rumble to it and anyone that has heard it will tell you it's LOUD

Cheers macker that helped alot and as for it being to big, its never big enough to me :P the playmini system sounds appealing :D but the rc40 millenium would do just fine

have a read around about exhausts and what works best for what motor and state of tune as just having an exhaust because it's loud might not be the best thing for your car,
the only reason I have this one on my mini is that I've put a lot into the engine and it helps mine breath better

Yea for now atleast i might just get a second cat and beat out the filters and use it as a resonator but 99db sounds too tempting :D and if it runs right all the better as thats a factor un my desision also and as for parts done im not 100% on the details but its an s works pack that was on the engine so it should be fairly decent for the engine in question

I have a stainless twin box side exit cat back RC40 in the shed doing nothing because the noise it gives is annoying and childish, shame really as it does let the engine rev freely. A look into my old single box showed that it contains no packing so unless I can get it re-packed I'll probably buy a maniflow, also the flange to the cat is half the width of the standard with all the stiffness of a milk bottle top. Rc40's, they're a bit ***** if you want an exhaust to do a proper job.

my one has an s works package too, and I wouldn't choose any other exhaust for mine I love it, when I revved it up fully it went higher that the db meter could read, its a great exhaust for having a bit of fun, and has a great throaty sound

Yea i loved the original exhaust that came with the mpi in the s works pack but the back box got ripped off by my sister and her love for back roads, got it mended on the sly and i never liked the sound after that
