Buying a mini
I am 15 and planning on buying a mini possibly from 1980s-1990s and was just wondering what are common problems I should expect to face with a classic mini

A major problem will be insurance when you turn 17/18. Then with the car been over 20 years it may be a problem.

Re: Buying a mini
As spud say insurace is the worst part
Cost me 2400 last year and just renewed it and it was 1400 still high but my car has just gone 20 this year so i got it just in time
And the major problem is rust if you plan on useing it daily id just suggest buy a restored one and play around with stuff on it to get urself farmiler. That how i did it. Id say buying a unfinished project at a young age and no mechanical experience would be a nightmare.
And good luck with your future mini best thing to happen to my life yet buy worst thing to happen in the financial part
