Jamie,

Welcome to the site. As I mentioned to you yesterday on the phone, grab yourself a Haynes manual. If possible, get one of the light blue ones as distinct to the last dark blue editions. The light blue are particular to your 1989 Mini and I find them better structured than the later style of Haynes manual.

Here's a light blue one currently on Ebay:

Hope it helps,

Billy

Welcome to the club.

Another useful book is the Mini Restoration Manual by Lindsay Porter:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Restoration-Man ... 1859604404

It has plenty of info especially if you are getting into a bodywork rebuild

Welcome along Jamie.

Don't be afraid to ask anything even if it sounds silly to you. Better to ask & find out than not know at all :)
