I got a service kit for a hif44 last week kit is CSK75 from minispares. Stripped the carb down to every nut and bolt, cleaned it with warm soapy water and rebuilt it with new seals etc. took bloody ages to figure out the springs but other than that worked perfectly. You can get the full rebuild kit but unless the parts are warn there is no need. Take loads of pictures as you dismantle it and all will be well !!!!

The main reason to refurb a carb is wear in bushes that support the shaft and butterfly, and ware in the petrol needle in the float chamber.Personally I just partially strip and clean with carb cleaner and unless there is obvious wear rebuild it as is. The only carb I have fully refurbed is on the turbo which runs positive and negitive pressure an has more seals than standard. The main thing with any carb is get everything clean.

Use a heated ultrasonic tank and a media tumbler for the best results. 8)
