pot joints leaking I think
I've got a bit of an oil leak going on it looks like it's coming out of the. Left pot joint so I've ordered these new seals http://minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=35753. But there is there any other likely places that could be leaking oil in the same sort of area. Thanks for any and all replies

it's a mini, everywhere!
if it's coming more from the drivers side it could be the gear selector rod where it goes into the gearbox, a common leaking point on minis

Re: pot joints leaking I think
if you have a mechanical fuel pump it could be leaking there,
if you have tappet inspection covers it might be coming from there,
it might be coming from the rocker cover gasket, the cork one that never seems to sit right after the first time you take off the rocker cover,
could be where the speedo cable attaches to the gearbox
as far as I know that's all the places at the back of the engine that you could have a leak of oil,
it could also be coming from around the front of the engine and being blown around the back,
this thread means nothing without pics!

Theres a pressed steal cap inside in the pot joint which can leak oil

I'd say you're right with the seals you've ordered. Sounds like it's your diff seal that's gone, at the gearbox behind the pot joint.

All the oil is at the back of the engine nothing at the front also nothing is above the manifolds at the back. 99% sure it's coming from the diff replaced the remote searchable seal its mainly on the left side of the diff will get a few pics later macker thanks for the help good list of things to check
