suspension donuts

ok, so you say the rubber donuts can be removed from the front subframe
*without* removing the top arms?

Just take out the top arms! Its just easier!
If you use the compression tool, theres a chance the threads in the donut will pull and then you'll have to take out the top arm anyway.

yea, used the compressor, (thanks bert) trumpets fell out easily... donuts rattling around loose in the towers now, but they are wider than the width of the opening.
think i'll pop the arms out. thanks Paul.

Try turning the donuts with a bar or large screwdriver so that they'll come out sideways if ya get me...

I have never had to take the top arm out to remove a donut

as Mustard said turn it with a lever

happy to report that the car gave birth to two small rubber donuts yesterday.
after removing the trumpets with the compressor tool, i tapped the donuts down square to the top arms and levered them out with two bars. a bit of washing up liquid was useful.
