Looking into what engins are the most ecomomical in Minis for average everyday use.
My '69 Elf 998 was good for 35mpg
My 1275 fast road will deliver 45mpg reguarly

After some googling it appears
SPi will average about 35mpg and MPi about 45

PLEASE DO NOT POST WHAT YOUR CAR DOES TO A TANK UNLESS YOU BRIM IT AND RUN IT DRY.
Minis come with different size tanks and empty on some fuel gauges read empty from anything up to 3/4 full.

My Spi , filled to the brim to the point where it started to chug did 38.73 mpg last year. 230 miles on 27 litres. Worked out at 17.5 cent a mile @ roughly 1.49 a litre.

*edit......that was motorway driving to Dublin and then about 6 hours of city traffic, before heading back down the motorway towards limerick.

My 1980 998cc used to regularly do 40+ mpg.
The 1275GT was less, around 30 to 35mpg
