OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF MTM 2012

The 14th MTM will take place on the weekend of 18th-20th of May 2012 .
The run itself will take place on Saturday 19th May with the first Mini leaving Malin Head at 6.00am.This is a change from previous years as we will be taking on a North to South format this year. This memorable event has to be experienced for the atmosphere, the people, the driving, the scenery and the cars. No other Mini event packs so much into one weekend and we hope you will come along and join in the best driving experience Irish roads have to offer.A line of Minis snaking across the Irish countryside is a sight to behold and the popularity of this event is testament to a great driving experience on great Mini roads.

We have secured hotels close to the start and finish of the event at very reasonable rates but there is limited availability in both hotels so to ensure you are staying with the main MTM party please send in your entry as soon as possible.

Once entry forms & fees are returned to me then accommodation options, costs, booking procedures etc. will be dispatched to you.
The discounted accommodation will be on a first come, first served basis so please book your entry early to avoid disappointment.

MTM 2012 is returning to its roots and this year we are raising much needed funds for Temple Street Childrens Hospital.On the entry form is a box to tick should you wish to receive a sponsorship card with your receipt for this very worthy cause.We are only too well aware of the numerous collections for charity around the country in these tough economic times but if every entrant raised a small amount,added together it would make a sizeable donation to Temple Street.

REMEMBER - IMOC Members are entitled to the special club rate entry fee for MTM2012.

For those eager beavers who have already sent in their MTM forms I am holding off posting receipts and accomodation details as I am awaiting confirmation of the agreed rate from one of the hotels and as soon as I receive that I will be sending them out.I have contacted those who posted their forms to me by text already.

Picked up 7 entries at the AGM yesterday and we now have 34 hardy souls lined up.

44 Minis signed up for MTM 2012 as of 20/2/2012.Just to let people know that the hotel in Donegal is fully booked and we are down to the last couple of beds in the hotel in Cork so if you have entered and have not contacted me or are thinking of entering and want to stay with the main group in Cork you had better hurry up.

A little under 3 weeks until the close of entry date for MTM 2012 and so far we have 52 hardy souls lined up for another real Mini adventure.Although the hotel at both ends are booked up there is still plenty of local accomodation available for anyone wishing to take part.Joe Conboy tells me that the Northern route is on paper and Tommy Commane tells me that the Southern route is in his head. .Also anyone who wishes to get an extra sponsorship card or who did not get one but would like to get one drop me a PM and I will get them out in the post to you.

Have you a date the cards have to be back. I was fortunate enough to spend last night in hospital beside Kevin doyle's brother off the irish soccer team. I was telling him about us collecting money for charity. He offered to get me a signed jersey by all the players once I provide a jersey. Only thing it won't be till the friendly in may. I'm going to do a draw for it and the money will be coming in then on my sponsorship card. Just wondering had you set a return date. I hope some off ye might buy some raffle tickets

The fund raising will be on going over the year JP and we have other events lined up and hopefully by the end of the year we will have a tidy sum to donate to Temple Street and with the Euros on this year a signed jersey would be a great prize.

58 entries to date,the country might be down in the dumps but that will not stop Mini fans enjoyings themselves.Looks like it will be another good one but will the GTi be finished in time

Only one day to go until close of entry to MTM 2012 and we have 62 entries in and returned and I have 10 entries to process and these will be in the post on Monday morning so that is a total 72.

3 more entries sent in the post today and there are one or two more entries to come in and that is that for MTM 2012 as we need to start ordering stuff for event packs and finisher awards.With just over a calendar month to go until the start of another epic spin down the country it would be a good time to sort out your Mini to avoid a last minute rush in getting it ready.A proper service with any issues arising being taken care of will decrease the risk of a breakdown and enhance your MTM experience so get those spanners out.

I so wish I could go this year. Im not working at the moment, so it would have been perfect to do it. However, I do have my daughters communions so no ability to go I hope everyone has a good and safe journey.
