A new bumper bought last March is now full of little rusty dots. I know these bumpers are a cheap copy of real chrome ones. But does anyone know the best way to clean them and how to stop or slow down this corosion?

I use WD40 with fine steel wool to clean off the rust then a chrome polish. when I buy new bumbers I paint the back of them with lead paint.

Thank you both. Today, while trying out different methods, my wife suggested "Brasso Wadding". Never heard of it before but it worked a treat.Tomorrow I hope to give them a good coating of wax and then stick them under my bed till March when I hope to take my mini out of hibernation. Thanks again

You could also use a small ball of tin-foil and water. Works a treat!!
