I put my woody away for winter storage today. I now have space in the garden and feel I should fill it with something.

Apparently we're getting a heat wave next week - you might want to hold off garaging it for a few days!

when i kept mine outside i used a soft car cover next to the paint, a couple of sheets of polystyrene over the bonnet & roof and then cocooned it in a waterproof tarpaulin, tying it fairly tight but allowing a little "panting" for air.
Before wrapping it up i drained the rad, removed the battery (as a spare) went crazy with oiling everything and left the windows open by 2 inches or so.
When i opened it up after 6 months, the car was dry, fresh smelling and clean. the only issues were a mouse had nested in the engine bay up near the wiper motor and spiders.... so many spiders!

Thank you all for your comments. But has anyone used a 'bubble'? They are expensive but supposedly very effective. I have a friend who 'wintered' his beetle in one last year and swears it's the greatest thing ever.
