Nordschleife

Post by MiniOslo »

Hi guys and girls.
I have some plans to go to the God Mother of all the racing circuts in the World, the Ring and Nordschleife in Germany.
I just wonder if someone have been there before?

Why if the Irish Minis one year had a tour over to Germany and the Nordschleife?

Some of the Southern region members are regulars at the ' Ring ' We are planning 4 trips this year , I would always tell any Ring newcommers to read the warnings and take care , it's a really dangerous place for the reckless . try to go on weekdays as 'tourist days ' at weekends are really busy and the track can be closed due to accidents several times any day . I have used various cars inc MINI and various BMWs . be aware of other traffic including motorcycles (who will be slow through the corners) and some can come up behind you very quickly . remember it's a 'public toll road' and the rules of the road apply and are enforced by the Police , only pass on the left etc , if you crash you will have to pay for the recovery truck , the ambulance , the armco or other track damage so make sure your insurance is ok with this . normal policies should cover any damage as the road is as I said a public toll road which is derestricted . Well worth the money is a spin in the 'ring taxi ' with Sabine it's a 507hp BMW M5 and with in excess of 16000 laps done I can assure you it's one hell of a spin .if you need any more specific details give me a shout .
