the cv joint should come off the shaft with a bit of gentle persuasion.
ball joints and all that disconnected and a few taps of a hammer from behind should take the hub and cv off

use a copper hammer or a piece of timber to soften the blow if you want to use the cv again

Are you talking about the castle nut? If so cold chisel will go through it easily if its stuck on

if you can secure the hub (and subframe) from moving, usually a "breaker bar" or extention will shift them: they are wound up to 150 - 200 ft/lb so are quite tight.

Is it the driveshaft or CV you need.If its just the driveshaft you dont need to open the nut, a sharp blow to the back of the CV should release the driveshaft.

They are a pain to get off, just get a longer bar, thats what I do

You'll struggle using brute force only, the best way is to get the nut under tension then using a large hammer strike the bar, the shock will loosen the nut. I always use a 3/4" breaker bar and socket with a 6' extension (scafolding tube) and then whilst someone stands on the breaker bar another person hits it with the big hammer, hasn't failed me yet.
