Looks like a very early 90's cooper, with a sports pack added on at a later stage.

It could be that someone pulled the wool over their eyes on a trade in, and let on it was 1973, and they didn't do their homework to check up on it

I,m pretty sure that i know this car. If its not it, then its definitely owned by the same guy and a bit of a coincidence. He,s well known in classic car circles in the N.West. If its the car i,m thinking it is, then its definitely not a 73 Cooper having been owned by a dealer in NI previously and sold after he passed away a couple of years ago. I knew about the car and had been keeping an eye on it but was too slow and the car ended up with this dealer. It was in pretty good order back then and i dont reckon it has done much since then.
Could it be a misprint/badly worded advertisement?

I know its not a Cooper but can somebody point out why this is not a '73. I can tell from the weldind that the wings have been replaced which would account for side indicators and most Minis have arches and wheels added as well as a dash.

If you put aside for one minute that nothing that is on the car comes from the early 70's and that there is a slight possiblity that someone got a perfect early 70's shell and put every single part of a 90's Cooper into it,there is no drip rail along the roof channel and it also has rear seat belt brackets visible from inside the boot. Why take off the drip rail but add seat belt brackets? or maybe this is a bit like Triggers broom :D
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.

Ok I missed the seat belts but this is a mod that has been discussed with me by somebody with kids. Some people don't like that gutter lip. The only part of my'77 is the shell ,the rest is much later. I was discussing recently with somebody reshelling a crashed MPi into a classic shell so what if that was done here, its easy to drill extra holes in the bulkhead .

This one looks dodgy too
