ive painted my roof with rattle cans and have to say it turned out great its a gloss black but iwould like it shinier do i need to lacquer it to give it a shine or do i leave it

you can only lacquer it if the paint it designed to be lacquered.

from what you describe with the paint you use being gloss, i would say no you can't lacquer it.


to get a decent shine you will need to buff and polish it.. but make shure there is enough paint on roof before you do it or you can burn through.

most paints you can put a clearcoat over it should say on the tin ...see with it been a single stage paint you may only be able to use a "rattle can" claer coat as they are also single stage
if you post the name of the paint i may be able to help more
