Respray

Post by benfox1515 »

Hi guys,

My mini turned 30th last month, so as a present I decided to get it resprayed. There was few places of rust, along the bottom of the back windows, bottom of the doors and a bump in the right wing.

Decided to go to a place in greenogue industrial estate, called Rokas Autos. He is a Polish lad with only Polish lads working there. A few people I know got their car fixed by him and since I am living in Newcastle, decided I'll give him a shout. Called into him and it just happened that he was just finishing building a spray booth.

Left the mini in two and a half weeks ago to be done and it'll be ready on Tuesday. He has done such a great job on it. The wing looks like it's a totally new wing and every spot of rust is gone. The best thing about it was the price, €1000!! Couldn't believe it as there was some amount of work that has gone into it. Would highly recommend him to anyone!!

I did the interior myself! Got replacement seat covers, door cards, parcel shelf, gators for gear stick and handbrake and cover for inside wheel arches at the back. These were all made out of vinyl by a company in UK, actually found them on eBay. Cost €300 for all of this including postage. You tell them exactly what you want in terms of Colour, piping etc. Took about three and a half weeks from ordering them to receiving them.

Was pretty easy to do. Just had to take of the old seat covers and clip on the new ones! Took about two full days to do it all!

Beautiful looking Mini Ben. :)
Great work on renewing the seats.
Must look into doing that for my own ones in the future.

What are you planning to do next with it?

Hi paddy,

Been off this for a while! The seller was called all trim. Should be able to find them if you search classic mini seat overs. The picture is of seats in a garden.
