Would I be correct in saying that IMOC members using the IMOC site cannot access into the members only section. If you are having a problem getting into this section please let it be known and we will help you access.

Regards

Count me as one who cannot access the members only site. I've just renewed my membership again for this year.

What you need to do ned78 & city 998 is to log in to the members only site a second time, and if you are registered as a current IMOC member you will be given access. The website administrator will be able to give you access.
This will be more important as we go forward in 2006 as all "for sale" and "wanted" items are to be conducted through this "members only site". If people try to sell or buy on the general forum it will be deleted.
Regards & best of luck.

Don't see the advantage of making it for members only...

There will be less people to see the for sale items and therefore will make it harder to sell the items that members have for sale, and if a member is looking for a much needed part, they'll find it much harder to come by!

The topic of having the forum open to everyone has been discussed over the last few years at National Committee meetings and AGM's. I thought that,at the 2005 AGM , it was voted upon and agreed to leave the forum open to all, including the "For Sale" and "Wanted" sections. I would think the AGM's decision would hold sway until the next AGM.

I'd agree, surely this would have to be discussed at the AGM first.

dayoungfella,

As you rightly say buy and sell for members, just to clarify, the buy and sell and wanted is still available to members.

More information regarding this subject is available in the members section.

So members will now miss out then on items being sold by non members or for that matter a member seeking an elusive part, can now only source that part from fellow IMOC members.

Not a great decision, personally. A bit petty really.

Ah well, there are always the other irish based Mini sites to advertise on FOR FREE ;)

Maybe I'm just thick but I can't see it. On the main forum index page I see two blocks. In the upper is "Forum". In the same block below that is "Non-Members" and below that are "General", "For Sale", and "Wanted".

The lower block is "Who is Online".

That's all. I've been a member of IMOC for the past four years so this is a bit frustrating. :?
