top dash rail on an 83

i changed my dash recently for the center binacle type but when im driving the car i cant see the top of the speedo as the top dash rail gets in the way,would this dash rail be original to the car its an 83 leyland 1000 thanks john

I dont think a top dash rail is standard fitment with a centre bannacle. My 75 Austin 1000 just had the steel rail with the ashtray and I never had a problem seeing the speedo.

Center clocks were never fitted with top dash rail. If you remove the top dash rail you will have several holes, the easiest thing to do would be to cover the top rail in leather like the coopers and hornets.
