respray costs
hi i needto get a respray done on my 83 leyland thinking about two colours black roof with maroon body as car is already maroon the question i have is what shouls i be budgeting for and who does the prep work me or the body shop

Talking in the region of the 1500 mark for a job done right.... Prep work can be done by either yourself or body shop but would work out cheaper if you do it yourself....
Getting old is a must but growing up is optional!

1500 is cheap,most good places are 2000 and another grand to get it blasted

Having done cheap resprays in the past, you only end up regretting it in the long term.
You also have to factor in the cost of parts required. It would be unusual if you weren't talking a-panels, wings, scuttle corners, floors.
As Stan says, doing the prep work yourself will cut down costs. Remove windows, bumpers, grille, rubbers, aerial, mirrors etc.
