SR Visit to Kilgarvan Motor Museum - Sunday April 17th

Sunday April 17th, the Southern Region will have a run from Killarney around south Kerry and visit the Kilgarvan Motor Museum. Since the closure of the Killarney museum some years ago, the Kilgarvan Motor Museum is the only vintage car museum south of the Shannon. Tommy Commane has stepped in to put together a route.

Those of you on Facebook can visit the Museum fb page below:

We will assemble at the Topaz garage in Killarney on the Cork road from 10.30am. There is a coffee shop there so members can have a late brekkie while they're waiting.

Entry to this event is free for paid-up club members and we have negotiated a reduced entry fee to the museum of €4. The Mitchell family, who run the museum, can also supply teas and snacks.

After visiting the museum, we will continue our run and stop for a late lunch around 3pm.

The Southern region would welcome IMOC members from all over the country who would like to give their cars a shakedown before MTM.

Billy

PS Although not a club event, some club members will be taking part in the Charleville Vintage Club's Spring Run on Sunday April 10th.

Text and e-mail will be sent out this evening for this run. If you don't receive either and you are based in Munster, it will be for one of two reasons:

1. Your contact details are incorrect;
2. Your 2011 membership hasn't been paid.

Well just home from what was a brilliant day with the Southern Region, a huge thanks to Billy and Tommy C for a great route with breathtaking views of Kerry's finest! And the visit to the Kilgarvan Museum was like going back in time, lovely people loads of vintage cars and history! Heres some pictures of the day. Thanks again to everyone in the Southern region for the warm welcome Tony and myself received.

Great photos and fair play to our ER guests for making the trip down. Thanks also to Tommy C for planning the route.

The spuds were in the Mills in Ballyvourney and to finish the day, Tony, Darran and I had lovely 99s in Ballyhooly on the way home.
