Gearbox Question

Post by EAMOSPUD »

I have a 72 mini 850 with a original type gearbox , Magic wand type, (not remote or rod change)
Car has no reversing light as standard and just wondering has gearbox a hole to take early reversing light switch.
I see there is a switch available for early type cars.
Is it possible to fit same to my current model.
Has anyone done this. :?:

Should have a bolt in place of the switch as you look into the engine bay its just right of the oil filter if memory serves me right

Its a long time since I did this but I think when you remove the bolt there is a spring and you havee to fit a rod down the center of the spring that will operate the switch. You need a calipers to work out the lenght of rod needed.
