Can mk1 exterior doors hinges be fitted to a mk3

I'm liking the look of mk1 mini's so I was wondering could hinges be fabricated onto a mk3 mini door as I no mk1 and mk3 doors are a totally different shape?

the simple answer is yes. you will need to weld strenghtening brackets behind the a-panel and inside door to suport the hinges because of the weight they have to suport. to get the hinges fairly in the right position it would be handy to have something mk1 to get reference measurements off, a mk1 a-panel or similar would be enough, or you could just guess it from pic's.
