New Mini Countryman

Post by maxi »

Im sure you've all seen BMW's latest offering, the Countryman which they intent to take rallying next year.

yeah, yeuck, spit, bini etc...
(really think BMW have lost the plot on the styling end of things but the MINI brand is so strong now,
they could market a car with the same profile as mary harney and sell millions)

but, i stumbled across a guy who was messin with mixin the clubby shape with the new BMW lines,
photoshop job obviously, but I think its really nice. looks like a mish mash of a couple of modern yokes out there,
but a hell of a lot nicer than the one above.

That yoke is ROTTEN. Is it a jeep or a car like ?

But that second one, that's class. BMW should make that instead of that other pice of sh*te

the new Countryman as far as i can tell has been made that way to incorporate all the rally components that will be fitted to the new rally car when BMW enters back into the world of rallying, it was designed firstly for this purpose and then retro designed to look similar to a road going/off road capable BMW Mini as they must have produced a certain number of the car to be allowed enter it into competition

but the photochop jobby of the Clubman does look extremely well!
much more pleasing to the eye than any of BMW's attempts this far!

Those of you of a certain age will remember the Austin Maxi, a 5-door hatchback that sold into the early 80s. Maxi by name in that it wasn't a short car. The new BINI Countryman is longer than it!

Also the current Polo is bigger than the Mk1 Golf , cars are just getting bigger.

In the Sunday Times today there is an article on a new 2 seat version of the MINI which will be smaller than the current version and more akin to the size of the perfect car it was supposed to emulate.

A fully carbon fiber Mini Marcos shell weighs just 7.25kg.
