The clutch on my 88 austin is going i think.

A few days ago i noticed that every so often she wouldnt get in gear first time. then today it started getting more frequent. It has now gotten to the stage that when i have it in gear and the clutch held in at the lights it cuts out.

Does anyone know anyone someone who would be able to fix it? Or what i am really looking for is for someone who knows what they are doing and would be willing to show me how to fix it. (oh and im not looking to get this done for free)

I am based in Stillorgan Co Dubin but can travel as long as its not too far

Alex

well id say its your slave cylinder thats leaking. so when your sitting at the lights and your foot down on the clutch its loosing pressure and realising by its self stopping the engine. if the clutch was gone your car would be revving up when you going to put down the boot while driving.

I can take a look at it for you, I'm based (workshop) in Wicklow just off the N11 (exit 14 off M11), we can take a quick look and see whats wrong, then if required you can get the parts and I can install them for you.
