i'm lead to believe that the garage in Churchtown, D14 formerly a rover dealer, (http://www.kcgarages.com/) had the kit last year. *however* i was quoted €90 for a diagnostic session, with no guarantees. I didn't use it in the end.
i also understand that the Crypton ACT-1 unit with the rover module will read codes from the rover MEMS. I bought a BluePoint DataCheck one that specifically said it would do mini's but it doesn't...
the full rover kit was fitted to a laptop and went for multiple thousands i think.
I had to get it done last week in Ryan garage in blach village. They used to be rovers. They charged me 40 euro. Only thing is they kept the mini all day.

what do they do? read the outputs and clear down the faults? do they supply a printout/info?
I had to go in with the warning light on the dash (srs). I was given a print out but it was only to do with the fault. The girl and guy did say that there were no other issues with the ecu. So I'm guessing they checked every thing but only told me about the fault I had in detail. They did tell me when I first rang it would cost between 40 to 50 euro. But only charged 40. They couldn't reset the light as they didn't have the part I needed, but the guy told me that once I changed the part it should go out. But if not they would reset it afterwards for nothing. After I changed the part and connected the battery it went out for me. I think they offered to reset it for free because they couldn't supply me the part as it's not made by any one any more.
Did an engine management light come on, on the dash? Are mini’s OBD2?
I have a generic fault code reader, tried it on loads of makes and models and it works, except (so far anyway) for BMW and Daewoo.
It is only a code reader so will only read if the ECU has stored a fault, it cannot read real time, but you can clear codes too. You’re welcome to try it if you like.
