Re: painting a mini
I have resprayed two minis in the past year. I used cellulose on both as i find it the easiest to use (and the cheapest by far).
Both were resprayed a totally different colour to the original and had a different colour roof.
I used 3 litres for the body, the visible parts of the interior, and a quick blowover to colour the inside of the boot. The roof took just under a litre.
You can still get cellulose if you want.....Just yesterday i ordered 5 litres for another mini, it is costing me £83 sterling incuding delivery to Limerick.
Contrast that with my local motor factors who charge €50 for 1 litre of water-based paint which then HAS to be clear-coated (more expense). The cellulose will be mixed 50/50 with thinners which means that my 5 litres will really be 10 litres !!.

It's legal to sell (and use) cellulose for use on classic cars. I get my paint from this crowd in northern ireland;
http://www.extremeautoaccessories.co.uk/home_page.php
It doesn't show any paint on the site but if you give them a ring they will sort it out. they also list on ebay and you can see colours and prices there;
http://motors-parts.shop.ebay.co.uk/Gar ... 11.c0.m282
They normally charge £8/10 sterling for delivery (Fastway couriers) which is very good as any of the cellulose suppliers in the UK either wont send to here or charge at least £25/30 per delivery.
I wouldn't touch 2-pack as i don't have the full respiratory gear (ie. an air-fed face mask).
If you have the space to to it i would recommend trying a respray yourself...you can buy the paint, a cheap compressor and the spray gun for about 1/4 of the price most places will charge you to spray the car. It's not that hard and an hour's compounding will bring up a decent finish.
p.s. ClubmanGT I actually got 5lts old english white & 1lt black for that price delivered to my door....I worked in a motor factors mixing paint back in the 80's and it was dearer then !!!
