Straight cut gears and NCT

Does anyone have any experience of putting a mini through a NCT with straight cut gears?
Will it pass or be pulled for noise etc?
If I was fitting a gearkit what should I fit drop gears only or full gearkit, what's the difference.
I am planning a 1380 and while I am at it I was thinking of changing my std box.
I like the sound which is really what I am after.

Richie,

If you are planning to use the car on a regular basis, you'll be deaf as a stick. The noise inside the car is cruel for a road car.

AFAIK they only check "noise" when the car is stopped in the test center, and the 'box would be in neutral, so no noise from there then.
If the tester finds it noisy while driving into the garage, it would be a purely subjective opinion as i don't think they have any way of testing for noise when the car is in motion (!)

In fact, reading this http://www.ncts.ie/NewInspectionItems.aspx it clearly states "vehicle exhaust noise" ..... designed specially to fail "coffee-can" exhausts on annoying boy-racer cars, *not* designed to fail the sweet sound of an A-series at full chat 8)

second Billy's view on straight-cut-for-road-cars....

The car is only used for a bit of fun at weekends. It's not a daily driver. Still undecided though.
