The bonnet on the mk1 's is the same as the mk3 only the mk3 has a lip spot welded on the edge to attatch the chrome grill top too. This can be drilled off but will usually need the front of the bonnet sprayed or touched up. the grill then can just be changed for the mosstach and mk1 grill. By right the early front panels were a bit different on the bottom corners but not like it makes a massive difference. if you wanted to make it look like a genuine mk1 there a lot more to worry about with the doors and hinges etc. Have a look in projects and mini's at coop's mini. He got Karl in Brackenn Autobodies to mk1 the front of his 97 BRG mini.

The early front panels had a full skirt across the lower edge of the panel but the later ones and all front panels after had a section cut out of the front skirt to aid the cooling of brakes so for your mod in which you are after the MKI look then a modern one will do.
Real Clubmans have a square nose.Seriously.
