i hate electrics

brought the car for a spin this evening but realised i had no back lights or dash lights i only put in a new switch inn bout 2 months ag anyone any ideas

check the inline fuse in the engine bay under the scuttle panel above/behind the carb,
sounds like that will be the culprit.

You'll find you have no parking lights on the front either. They are on the same circuit. You'll only have dip beam and high beam. I would guess the switch.

i'm in the same boat man, electrics are a pain in the arse, all my internal electrics are gone, the car is in getting fixed at the minute

had a good dig arround tonight arround the switch which boke one of the pins in the switch !so behind the switch their are 3 wires brown blue and red how does the swtch send power throgh the red wire ,i joined blue to brown and lights came on but when i join brown to red nothing i thought if i joined them the dash lights and back lights would come on ?and can anyone tell me what colour cabel goes into the left side of the bottom connection in the fuse box of a 92 city thanks john

they wont come on because you havent replaced the fuse under the bonnet like i said

Joining the brown and red should send power to the red cable on the bottom left of fuseboard where it passes through the fuse to feed all said lights on the red/green wires.

thanks woody im collecting my new light switch tomorow so hopefully the lights will work but i took the car out today again i now have no indicators horn or wipers y couldnt they wire up minis like houses i know how to sort them

got my new switch fitted thismornin conected op the broken connection at the fuseboard and everything worked thankfully
