NCT Pass or Fail ?

Hi gang , Just back from NCT centre , Had the last slot 9pm Friday night. I was the only car there and I was greated by 4 testers, O NO one is enough to be looking at car ......... This was a retest it failed first time for emissions and a unsecure cv boot clip. So I waited for 15mins and a nice chaps comes in to me so say we have a problem , O NO Bloody emmissions .. To my supprise and delight it passed the retest ,, BUT he cannot issuse me a cert as the retest page has me down as not passing the Head light aim test (the first test has me down as doing and passing same) he explains it a computer error as the NCT has being taken over by a new operating company since 4th January and there is teething issuses with Computers. I need to contact Dublin and explain my case and they will issuse a cert or so he says..

Just wondering has anyone else come across .....

So here I am 2 pieces of paper to say mini passed but No cert...
Monday morning awaits........Answer...

if it their computers messin up then the car should be given a pass, got my retest next saturday(hasnt had an nct since 2003!!)

You have to do it again

Mine passed emissions , but they had it down as the wrong figures.

They had to do it again and it failed.

Dont worry its free

I had a similar problem in the past. Call the NCT hotline and explain your case. It shouldn't be a problem.

Hey you can ring the head office and explain what happened or just go back to the center ask for a supervisor or team leader tell them what happened and they should give you a free test if you make the point that it's not your fault the computer lost the Reading happinin all week (I'm an inside man or as what you will prob call the enemy ha)

Regarding 93 RSP car was made in 1990 (as per serial numbers) but first registration was 93 (UK REG)

Regarding cooper and copper I just can not spell but thanks for heads up will change details..

Made phone call to NCT Monday, Received my cert in the post Today.

Happy days , good for another 2 years..

Afraid not . My son is being christened Saturday and I will be under pressure to drive Sunday....

Good to see the Minis goin through the system... God only knows what it will be like when we have to NCT ever year...
