I was about two hundred yards away from the church in which I was travelling to in Cavan after leaving my house at 7am this morning and one of the last corners this happened

Stud was in the ditch in the back ground.

The nice man who got me up to the local :D

Snapped the brake line

Cracked the ball baring cover thing

Stephen re-building the hub :D Thanks Stephen!!!

I had snapped the brake line, the tie-bar, driveshaft, cv joint and a few other bits but Stephen is sorting me out with parts so we should have Stud back by tomorrow afternoon and body I just bent an a panel.

Thanks to Stephen, the lads in the jeep who towed me out of the ditch, Donal for sorting out the tow truck to get it back to Stephens, Si for giving me a lift the rest of the way to the churchand Fifi for supplying the tea! :D

Well that seems to be the mini Injury of the month! with Buddys and now yours...Wonder if steven will charge you 3.5K for the fix :p

Glad to see your back though, bring it to a car park(empty one!) and try messing about in the ice, you can learn alot in a few minutes.

Just make sure you know where the Kerbs are etc.

sent him on his way earlier on, well left him (and the father) to the do last few bits as i had to do a course so hope he did what was left to do well

i didnt see it but il tell ya wat happened:
he understeered aka slid, accelerated and went a bit across the road, slid some more, and slid some more.... then the back of the car decided to slide along too and whipped its ass 180 around and then he went into the ditch backways :P
he's lucky, the right back side of the car was leaning on the ditch (wheel of ground) and on the other side of the ditch was an 8 foot drop!!
anyway when we got the car pulled out of the ditch the wheel collapsed more, the tie rod had bent completely (he has pics) all the balljoint casings were cracked/broke so the balls of them actually popped out, and the driveshaft had snapped at the coupling... so the wheel was left hanging on by the bent tie bar and the steering rack...

lucky for him i had all the spares to send him back home a day later.... couldnt put up wit him anymore
