Re: 1964 FIA Lookalike
I have a set of Paddy Hopkirk bars on it with some mid-range Halfords bike carriers (although I was informed they're made by Thule!). They work a treat.
Bike is a Cove Hustler AM bike. Can be pedalled up hill and is awesome on the downhill stuff too

Plans include full respray, new interior, custom wiring loom...and possibly a new engine (current 1380 might be up for grabs)!

Re: 1964 FIA Lookalike
Well, as I was taking the engine out I was finding it hard to be strict and not get carried away with tidying up the car...didn't work though!StanO'Toole wrote:Did you just get to into taking stuff apart and didn't realised you striped the hole Mini? What engine you thinking Neil?

Nice to see it getting a whole lot of TLC.I hope you did not find any nasty surprise when you stripped it out,you know what Minis are like.

Re: 1964 FIA Lookalike
No nasty surprises really. Car is pretty much 100% solid, it's had a LOT of repairs done over the years though, some of which aren't the neatest!

Re: 1964 Racer
Small update!
Shell has been at the bodyshop for the last week, hoping to have it back within the next 2 weeks! Ended up buying a new driver's wing and A-panel as the ones that are fitted don't look right at all.
Have also been busy buying lots of new bits including interior, shiney bits, brake bits and engine bits!
The 1380 is now fully stripped and will be sent off for some minor machining, and will hopefully be rebuilt (including some new mods) and ready to go before the shell comes back from paint.
Subframes and various other parts will be going for powder coating next week, and will hopefully have all the running gear built up and ready to go for when I have the shell.
Here's a pic of some of the new bits!

Re: 1964 Racer
Another small update!
As we all know, timelines never go to plan so things are happening a little slower than I had hoped.
Shell is coming on and should be primed and ready for paint by the end of the weekend, engine will hopefully start going back together this weekend and subframes should be back from powder coaters mid next week.
In the mean time I've been painting various things, building up my new front hubs and retrimming my seats. The colour may give you an indication of the colour the car is going
New timeline is shell finished by next weekend, subframes ready, and engine nearly ready!
Pics aren't great but at least they show progress!
Quite a lot of little dents and flat spots needed filling...
And more...
New wing fitted...
New (second hand) seat covers fitted...
Could probably do with a good clean!
