good guess! 8)

am gonna get it road worthy and then im not sure what to do with it really...
it has the 1098 engine so is bit faster than my 1 litres which is/would be nice, plus it actually has a decent size boot ...
id say il end up selling my green mini and my red mini too, keep this one and then finally finish of my project mini nancy...
see im thinking this would be a nice car for going to IMM in...
i know a fella selling a decent clubman if that floats your boat either?? very little or no one knows about it and to be honest it was on my wish list but seeing as that i got this instead im quite happy to share the secrecy now.. its hidden away in cavan too so give me shout if ya wanna get look at it.. 0864033950

well had a good look and poke through the car today, was told it needed a bit of work so was prepared for anything really...
turned out quite good, there was new outer sills put on (when i have no clue of) which were actually welded on properly, had a good look in the rear pockets and seems to be bit good bit of surface rust :?
found a few botch jobs around the car in the rear arches, the rear valence and rear side valences, bit of rust in the spare wheel area of the boot, and some rust in the footwells...
the inner of the front wings and front panel are very good with just a little surface rust but ya can still see the original paint too, have one perfect, have a spare one but just needs a skin, one of the back doors is perfect the other needs a little patching..
most of the interior is pretty much perfect as they were covered with plastic :D
all in im very pleased with its condition il be making up[ a list of parts as i go along, i started cutting out some rust and welding in fresh steel untill the welder started playing up and i gave up..... :?
best find on the car is that the alloys look to be brand new and never use besides rolling the car around  6x10 wellers.. woop woop!!!

il let the pics do the talking...

Thats a potentially god Clubman estate you have there Steven-congrats.

And its pretty much a blank canvas so you can tailor it to your own spec.
Bet your back yard is looking like a Mini dealership at this stage!!!!!!!!!

There's only 5 mini's out the back, 3 of which drive and 1 being just a shell. Parents don't seem to mind to much :P

Nice find anyway (and onother reason to keep away from Nancy)

I'd keep this one, I find the big booth on my yoke is great for lugging stuff, sell the red & green one and have nancy as a show/weekend/special car with all the nice bits.

cheers tony and rest, she deffo will be a nice one... :D
im sick of having so many mini undone so plan is to get all of them done by the end of february, that means:
finish of BOB's bit of filling and get it through the nct.
patch up whatever needs to be patched on clubby estate and get her paint and rolling again.
drag Nancy home finish of filling the car and start building and putting in subframes and 'a' engine, and paint job..

the joys ....

anywho, back to clubby estate, gt some nice new front floor pans courtesy of paul glennon ;) so instead of tidying up little rust patches in the original floor wells il just weld in a new one :) question: il be removing the engine so i can clean and paint the engine bay which takes alot of weight form the front of the car, i then plan on doing the floor wells, will i have to brace the floor someway or another before i cut out the original or would it be fine without???
never done front floor pans before so any tips also appreciated :)

edit: theres 5 minis at the back of the house 4 mine and sis's 1, and nancy's hidden away.. :P
shell is going so that will be one less , pheeeeeew....

electric hoist was a mighty job.. got the engine out alot quicker than i did first time :D

will start strip rest of engine bay and give it a good clean and some new paint...

any tips on needing to brace the front floor wells or not when i replace them???? theres no weight to the car at all so was thinkin just cut out old and weld in new....

There is no need to brace the shell when replacing floor pans if you are leaving the tunnel and sills in place, however if you are replacing the whole floor then you would need to brace the door frames but seeing as it is only the pans you are replacing you should be OK.

sorry to dissapoint lads but its gonna be neither :P

engine is gonna be standard 1.1 with stage one kit, not sure how fast/slow it will be..
gonna keep original ride height too unless i can get some cheap adjusta rides...

welder is bein a bitch today so am just strippin the engine bay to make ready for clean and paint.. <--- no real bad patches so hopefully wont need welding. gonna lift the car over subframe in a bit but toes and fingers are gone a bit numb so hence having a nice cup of tea

wats craic tom? hows ur mini??

was to cold last couple weeks to venture outside but felt brave today and cut out one side of footwell..
was bout to weld in the new panel (having got new parts for welder which i thought were causing the problem) only for the welder was being a (*&(&^ again....
so decided to open up the welder and check all the wires, a big kink in the wire feed was casuing the problem, so i cut it which leaves me with even less length of a hose, then cut my hand quite deep with stanley knife which put a halt to everything :?
joys..........................

ha joys of having a mini!!!

stanley knifes are lethal, dad ended up cutting his arm from wrist to elbow, pure accident, and just put a new blade in bout 2 mins before... bout 6-7 years ago now...
