hey lads,
i am thkinking about putting a v-tec into the mini. i am just wondering do anyone have a v-tec mini and dose it cause any problems.? what has to be done to make it fit and if ye have any other info about it..?
i just need all the info i can get before i can decide if i do it or not.?

here you can get an idea of the work involved, the cost and the issues people have.
Rob or "Backfire" on Miniresource has had 2 Vtec minis so Im sure he could help you. If I remember correctly both of his have used the watsons kits which can be found here http://www.watsonsrally.co.uk/

im leaning towards using a honda D series engine, and this kit:

i like the ides of the car *not* looking any different from the outside.
I know of one engine conversion currently being built, but he's not using a honda engine AFAIK.

How do you manage something like this through NCT and what is insurance like?

From speaking to Rob (backfire on MR) when he had his one, its VRT's as a 1.6 or 1.8 honda depending on the engine fitted and its insured as the same
