hey lads,
i am thkinking about putting a v-tec into the mini. i am just wondering do anyone have a v-tec mini and dose it cause any problems.? what has to be done to make it fit and if ye have any other info about it..?
i just need all the info i can get before i can decide if i do it or not.?

Hi Jim,
Best site for all the infor on 16v conversiions is http://www.16vminiclub.com/
here you can get an idea of the work involved, the cost and the issues people have.
Rob or "Backfire" on Miniresource has had 2 Vtec minis so Im sure he could help you. If I remember correctly both of his have used the watsons kits which can be found here http://www.watsonsrally.co.uk/

ive been pondering the same question...

im leaning towards using a honda D series engine, and this kit:

i like the ides of the car *not* looking any different from the outside.
I know of one engine conversion currently being built, but he's not using a honda engine AFAIK.

From speaking to Rob (backfire on MR) when he had his one, its VRT's as a 1.6 or 1.8 honda depending on the engine fitted and its insured as the same :wink:
