hi can any tell me my heater wont get hot unless fan is on and where does the cold airvent on drivers side under dash go? does it connect to the right handside of the heater??

Ye, it connects to the heater and its a bugger to fit. When you have this connected you will get some airflow without the fan on.

generally about heaters... (now that winter has come to stay)
weather or not you are getting (cold) air in, the heater *should* feel warm to the touch after a few mins of driving *and* the hot control pulled out.
likewise, even if you dont have the air duct connected, running the heater fan will blow air pas the heater, which should be warm after driving a few mins.. etc.
if the heater does not get warm/hot then the issue is to do with WATER not AIR.
1. check the level of coolant in the radiator.
2. mini heaters are known to get blocked with crud over the years. flush it out by disconnecting the hose that goes from top of the cylinder head above #4 cylinder and blow it clear with a garden hose
3. the hoses can also kink and cut off the flow of water. check them?

thanks for imfo ive had the pull nob pushed in 25 years away from minis doesent help doo ill try pulling it out thanks again

I only have hot air
No matter if the hot control is in or out, its always the same heat!
