Grey cooper

Post by ian o B »

Im very happy to say i collected my 95 cooper yesterday. driving it home was great. its a nippy 1.3 injected, its 100% rust free which is exactly what i wanted and il be trying my best to keep it this way..if possible

with more than enough time on my hands with no job since last tuesday :( im going to be preserving the car by applying body shultz/stone chip and pumping waxoil into prone areas.

im planning to fit the wide arches and 13" deepdish to finish it of along with other bits and pieces.

anyone with any suggestions are more than welcome
just uploading photos now

Nice motor ! 13 inch wheels will require the front arches to be cut away ?? Its a lot of work and then there is the bodywork and repainting afterwards €€€ you might want to think about that one ,
ALL YOU NEED IS POWER AND LOADS OF IT!!!

Ian,

Drive it on 12s for a while, especially on bumpy roads. Peter Mulroy in Cork converted his '93 to 13s and changed it back to 12s 2 weeks later.

Looks good Ian, you could go for 12x6 inch wheels. Deepdish but less as harsh on the bumpy roads.

12x6's would still need the arches cut. :(

i agree with all the above, bought my car with 13 but changed to 12inch it made a major difference, for comfort and handling.

Forgot to mention that, if your not afraid to use an angle grinder this should only take a couple of hours start to finish. Any areas that will need a touch up of paint will be covered by new arches anyway so will not have to be perfect.

Have a look at the link below and go to post #12 for some good tips. Basically what i done on mine.

jas its bin a while since i done anything on here..the mini has changed quite a bit since the last few photos so its time i put up a few

went to 12x6s when i seen a set for sale on here, bought the grp 2 arches wtih the extened lip and a set of chrome spot lights 2, fancy number plates and a few stickers and that finished off the outside
Image

made an under seat speaker board out of an old floor board covered it in black leather, holds the 6x9s and fire extinguisher nicely :)
Image

set off Gaz adjustable shocks and adjusta-ride height kit was one of the first things i bought for the mini
Image

was sick of the flexi-bit in the exhaust getting damaged so i got the maniflow manifold system and removed the cat and silencer, only fitted it last week.

Image

as it stands now ready for the mtm :) Image

Heaps more Photos but thatl do for now.

Bought time you came back Ian! Looking well, also think the smaller plate on the front makes such a huge difference! Makes the front look so much neater. Keep em' comin'!
