Patricia Strogen contacted me my self and Ian on the IMOC Bebo website seeking any ideas of insurance companies for her now classic Mini. She states,

''i tried to insure my 1985 1.0L mini a couple of months back EBS wanted €1500, I wanted it on the road my hubby bought it for me at xmas and he passed away in May. They insured my 95 Bmw 318is 1.8L for €650. They won't even swap my insurance over for a day so i can take his show mini to the odd show''

Help would be brill lads. Thanks in advance.

If its a second car and over 20 years then she should be able to get classic insurance for about €200ish. AIG or AXA do classics. My insurance is about €160 !!

She can try Carol Nash as well, got it there for 200 euro. http://www.carolenash.com/classic-car-insurance/
Axa requires that you have another ca insured for at least 1 years or they will not insure you with the classic. Hibernian has a similar policy.

You should have no problem getting insurance for €200 or less from your local FBD, make sure to emphasise that it is a classic.

I got a multi-car deal with First Ireland, 15 Parkgate Street, Dublin 8, Tel: +353(1)882 0818
first car for €280, other's for €60 a go, fully comp, with loads of no-claims. the saloons have an excess of €150, the convertible (beemer) was €300 excess. Only one car was +25 years old, the other two are '93 cars.

I also used FBD and it only cost about €150 3rd party. They didn`t ask forany mileage cert or anything else. :D I have 2 other cars insured with them.
