IMM Club Camping

Post by zakgt »

There seems to be a few discussions on the IMM Forum about how different people from a Club arriving at different times to the IMM can ensure they camp together.

The advice seems to be that the first arrivals know how many more from the club are comming and the IMM marshells can allocate appropriate number of pitches.

However as there are two camping areas noisey and family (slightly less noisey) do we need to know how many IMOC members are planned to camp in each area ?

1. ZAKGT - non family area.

Last year we all camped together whether we had families or not and it worked fine. I wouldn't like to see the IMOC group split at 2 ends of the camping field. Any partying in Holland happened up at the Marquee or at certain eastern European hooch-tasting tents so nobody was put out. And seeing as KMG is bringing the club gazebo in his van, I'd say that it will be staying in the family area!

Ye're all welcome in the family camping area. Mind you, if the bulk of the group stays in the rowdy camping section, it will make for more manageable numbers for Paul Maloney to cook breakfast for in the family area.

Decisions, decisions.

Would the Gazabo not be better in the Non-family area? Then when the Big tent party finishes, we can continue in the Gazabo without waking the kids.

It might be an idea to bring a second Gazabo.

I think it's absolutely important to have the gazebo at the family camping area. We have to have somewhere for the kids to eat, for the babysitters to sit at night - and for the kids to shelter if the weather is bad. The drinking parties tend to move about a lot. Even if there's a gazebo at the Irish non-family area, there's no guarantee it'll be used every night - or only used for a little while before the action moves to the Polish camp!!!! And besides, we don't want anyone puking or otherwise defiling our lovely shiny new gazebo, do we???!!!

Now now children (yes i know that’s rich coming from me) No point fighting over the gazebos. Julie has a point the kids will need the big one and besides it would also be in the area that will see the most use. But here’s a question how many small gazebos are there in the club? I know of the green one that was at the Donegal show.
If there is a second one or if someone has one we could use, the two could be tied together and it would be as big as the red one. Just put up a few banners and it would be plenty good.
Just my 2 cents

I think the Gazabo should be in the non-family area as knowing the English for rules there will proberbly be no gatherings no mather how few babysitters want to drink inthe gazabo alowed at all in the family area after 10 or 11 pm. There would be no problem with families or anyboby cooking or eating in it during the day no matter were it is. Sure we'll even have the club Taxi with us (Red Moke) to ferry stuff around. I'm taking it for granted at this stage that its gona be a wet one.

I have read the posts on the IMM forum and it seems that the first to arrive from the club will be allotted the club pitches.I think it would be a shame if the biggest IMOC group ever to attend an IMM would not be all staying. Is there any chance that those arriving first could maybe get a pitch that would suit everyone perhaps on the centre circle between the family and non-family areas.I know this is easier said than done but it would be better to have this sorted out before the event so that we have a plan for when the first members arrive at the gate.Perhaps if the first members to arrive had a list of all the members so that they could mark out the pitch.Thoughts anyone??

Looking at the list of familys , most of these kids have more IMMs under their belts than half the club members. In Gaydon all the club camped together, with no issues. It is more a case of how close to the main hall, showers, toliets, etc, than whether its a family / non family area that will make the difference.

I think we should all camp in the non family, as the baby sitting gang will be probably too noisey for the family area. Also if they are near the hall, its handier for others to drop over and back to them.

Location, location, location.
