1995 Mini Mayfair (Lucky Stud)
This is my 1995 Mini Mayfair 1275cc fuel injected which is jap import. This was my second car since my other Mini Austin didn't work out as I planned! The name lucky Stud or just Stud came from Mizen head to Malin hed 2009. Mickey (Miniman) and myself were doing about 60 add mph on the way to Mizen from Cavan and we though we got a blow out until we had a closer look. When we pulled over we realised the drivers side front was sitting lower then it should and seen we had shreaded three wheel studs leaving one lucky stud that more then likely saved our lifes! This was it when it was first bought from WebCars.net in Bray.
After driving it around for a while it turned out it was impossible to park or even reverse with those stupid wing mirrors so I took two of them of Austin and when I put the drivers side mirror on and was told to move Stud out of the way so I did and drove over the passenger side mirror I also didn't think there was enough light coming from the two little Hella spot lights so I replaced them with four Rally Giants!
I don't know about the milage?

Stephen,
Its still not fixed yet, still looking for a gearbox so I can afford my insurance come September, not working so well! The milage scares me, as far as I can remember its on about 50,500 ish after the MtM and its preety low milage for a gearbox to pack up unless it was rallyed in a field!

Re: 1995 Mini Mayfair (Lucky Stud)
Was up with BERT the weekend and brought the engine and gearbox which Kenneth Murphy kindly gave me for the gearbox as most of you prob seen on the Wexford. We srtipped it and it seems to be in fairly good nick! Happy days! Stripped it down to the bare housing and cleaned it off. Here are the pictures of our little project,
And this is Studs engine. I don't know if you can see the gears but they a bit chuwd up

Paul,
You should be saying good work BERT! Becuse he did most of it! All in all insurance, taxed and driving 20th November. We will just have to wait and see though! And in saying that I may say my thank you's now!
1. Kenneth Murphy - Thank you for the gearbox, taking out your most of your roll cage to get it in the back seat of your Designer and I'm sorry about the oily white Mini t-shirt that got covered in oil!
2. Paul Glennon (Mustard) - Thank you for taking me along the Wexford run, taking out your passeger seat and back seat to get the engine in, and sorry about the speacker wire that was under the engine and broke and that seat belt slalk
3. BERT - Thank for showing me how to take apart an engine and box and all the offers of helping me with Stud.

Re: 1995 Mini Mayfair (Lucky Stud)
Like Stans my arse rust free! There is now a hole in the battery box, were the spare wheel is meant to be there is now aload of surface rust, I found about a litre of water under my back seat and the drivers side sill looks like it was smacked with a hammer! (Well spoted Kenny)
But on the plus side my gearbox is ready to rock (just has be put back in along with the engine), I have my licence sent off and Mr. Kenneth Murphy made me a class little sound system today! And I changed my rear window so now my window heater works again. Only took me an hour and a half to get back in!
I can't see me using the a/c very often but I don't know if I should take it out or not, what you think?
