MTM2009 - A Few Words of Thanks

Post by Billy »

MTM2009 wouldn't have been a success without the help of the following:

Maxi for designing the Rally Plaque and designing the T-shirts;
Jimmy Tuite for providing the AA maps;
John Barry for the use of the printer;
Sean & Martin at the Barleycove Beach Hotel for pulling out all the stops;
Michael Healy-Rae for the fine breakfast rolls;
Johnny Murphy for the Tarbert check-in and for getting David Will and Goose to the start on time;
Eugene at Shannon Ferries for giving us a discount and for holding the 2nd ferry for PIM91, Mick Glennon & the breakdown crew;
Anna and Grainne at Mother Hubbards, Kilcolgan;
Norbert Sheerin, Irish Vintage Scene for the Kilcolgan sign-in;
Irene and her staff at the Waterfront Diner for transforming her premises for our evening meal;
Michael & staff (especially the night porter) at the Ballyliffin Hotel and Trasna House for the use of the facilities;
Simon & Andy for providing the breakdown support;
Iarla Carty for getting Emmett out of trouble in Donegal;
Tom Heavey, Irish Vintage Scene, for providing the prize of a year's subscription to IVS;
Kay & Karen Drury, MiniWorld for providing spot prizes and the 5-page spread in a future issue of MiniWorld!!;
Carl Czanik for the great article on MTM2009 he is going to write in Irish Vintage Scene;
Maj & Mags for putting up with the two of us over the last few months when feck all was done around the house (Girls, we're all yours now!).

And a big thanks from the organisers (all 2 of us) to all those who took part and made for a hassle-free weekend of Mini motoring.

We have just got back. Had a day to ourselves yesterday and got the early ferry from Dublin this morning.

What a fantastic weekend. Thanks to everyone who made it such a brilliant event, and for looking after us so well. We really enjoyed ourselves. So many people were so kind to us, and everyone made us feel so welcome.

As for the event itself, it has to be one of the best driving events going. Real Mini driving on perfect Mini-ing roads, through beautiful countryside. What more could anyone want!

Thanks for that Kay, glad you enjoyed it. Perhaps you'll consider it again some time.

There are a good bunch of us who did the MTM heading over to Birmingham in August for the IMM, I'm sure we'll see you there.

Don't be a stranger now.
