March 8th - Charleville Vintage Club Charity Run
We have been invited to take part in the Charleville Vintage Club's annual charity run. In the past, the club has had an age restriction of 20 years but because of the Mini 50, ALL Minis are invited i.e. up to 2000. I've been on many of the Charleville runs and no other club can match them for marshalling an event on the day. We will also be getting a prominent club stand at the Charleville Show at the end of June.
If anyone is interested in taking part, let me know. Charleville is 20 miles from Limerick and 40 miles from Cork.

Re: March 8th - Charleville Vintage Club Charity Run
The run starts at 11am. If you're there earlier, there's a free cuppa and sambo. Everyone gets a starter pack. The run usually takes about 80-100 miles with refreshments along the way. There's a dinner around 5pm at Bulgaden near Kilomallock afterwards with prizes etc. It's a well-organised event.
Well worth doing.

It's also worth mentioning that you can register that morning. I think entry is 15 or 20 Euros which is typical for a one-day vintage run.

Re: March 8th - Charleville Vintage Club Charity Run
Great stuff Dean.
St. Josephs is located on a parallel road to the main street of Charleville on the Kilmallock side. In fact if you drive down the town and take the turn for Kilmallock (to the left if you're coming from Limerick, to the right if you're coming from Cork) and then take a right about 100m from the main road, St. Josephs is down that road on the left.
For the folks coming from Cork, take the right at the sign for the NCT and the next left, past the NCT centre itself. St. Josephs will then be on your right.
See yawl there,
Billy

Re: March 8th - Charleville Vintage Club Charity Run
Well what a day. We had sun, hail, rain, and snow!!!!
Fair play to the hardy souls who braved the elements to take part in the Charleville Vintage Club's annual charity run. Tommy C brought Barbara and Ciaran along from Tralee in their newly-acquired Java Green Clubman (Peter, your old Clubby is in good hands). The sunroof came in handy for taking photos of minis on the move and no doubt Tommy will post them up later. Dean and Blake drove down from Shannon, Johnny and Brendan Murphy and Tom and Noreen O'Sullivan represented Cork city, while myself and Hugh and the Hales family flew the Ballyhooly flag. The Mk1 woody was owned by Charleville committee member Dominic Treacy who had used the car in MTM2003.
The short 47-mile route brought 72 old cars drive through Dromina, Freemount, Kanturk, Cecilstown, Ballyclough, and Churchtown. A fine meal for served to all at Corbett Court between Ballyhea and Charleville.
Anyway here's the photos. The next Southern Region event is the Mallow St. Patrick's Day Parade. See Events for more details.

Yep, that was an actual snow blizzard. Mind you, it's the only photo that makes my poor old Cooper look clean.
Well done Tommy.
